Works are carried out under License No. 185-GIN dated 21.12.2022, with the aim of studying the prospectivity of Cretaceous and Jurassic deposits. The area of the licensed block is 3,716.97 km2.

Administratively, the Zharkyn area is located within Mangystau Region of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The regional center, Aktau, is located 100 km southwest of the area. The settlements of Tasmuryn station and Tigen village are located directly within the area, while the villages of Kyzyn, Akshymyrau, Sheber, Tushchykuduk, and others are situated nearby to the north.

To the northwest of the area, the Kalamkas, Karazhanbas, Northern Buzachi, Karaturun, and Zhalgyztobe fields are under development; to the northeast are the Arystanovskoye, Karakuduk, Komsomolskoye, and Kultuk fields.

As part of the subsoil geological study work program, 2D CDP seismic field surveys totaling 1,255 linear km were completed, followed by the processing and interpretation of seismic data.
