Works are carried out under License No. 182-GIN dated 21.12.2022, with the aim of studying the prospectivity of Devonian and Carboniferous deposits. The area of the licensed block is 7,576.27 km2.
Administratively, the Berezovsky area covers parts of the Burlin, Chingirlau, and Syrym districts of West Kazakhstan Region and is located 140 km east of the regional center, Uralsk.
The Karachaganak gas condensate field is located in close proximity to the area under study.
As part of the work program carried out under the GIN, 2D CDP seismic field surveys totaling 338 linear km were conducted, followed by the processing and interpretation of seismic data.
Due to Sinopec’s interest in the prospects of the Berezovsky area, an agreement was concluded between KMG Barlau LLP and Sinopec granting the right to use geological information obtained within the framework of the geological study of the subsoil.
NC KazMunayGas JSC and the Chinese corporation Sinopec are holding negotiations on the joint implementation of the Berezovsky project.
