“KMG Barlau” LLP (hereinafter – the Company) establishes the priority of life and health of employees, as well as the prevention of environmental pollution in relation to the result of economic and operational activities of the Company, prevention of occupational hazards in the field of health, safety and the environment (hereinafter the – HSE). The Company follows the principle of zero tolerance for losses and damages related to accidents, accidents and pollution.

In order to implement this Policy, the management of the Company undertakes the following obligations, which it will carry out, and require their implementation by contractors:

1. To comply with the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, international and national standards, internal documents in the field of HSE.

2. To demonstrate leadership and commitment of top management in relation to HSE, actively involve each employee in the development of a culture of safety, when each employee is aware of responsibility for his personal safety and the safety of people around him.

3. To encourage, develop and disseminate best practices and experiences in the field of HSE both within the Company and among contractors and stakeholders.

4. To ensure rational use of natural resources, consistent reduction of environmental impact through the introduction of energy-saving, low-waste, environmentally friendly technologies, equipment, materials, Adaptation to climate change and compensation for possible damage to the environment.

5. To ensure the identification and elimination of hazardous production factors in the field of HSE at all stages of production activities.

6. To improve the competence and provide training of employees in the field of HSE at all levels of the Company’s management.

7. To provide communication and advice on HSE issues between all employees of the Company, contractors and stakeholders.

8. To guarantee workers the legal right to refuse to perform work in the event of a situation that reasonably endangers the life and health of the workers themselves or of people around them.

9. Increase the efficiency of personnel response and the Company’s readiness to act in emergency situations.

10. To ensure transparency, openness and reliability of information about the Company’s activities in the field of HSE, its content and efficiency.

11. To ensure continuous improvement in the management and performance of HSE by assigning responsibilities and accountabilities, giving authority for its maintenance and effective functioning.

12. To ensure the reduction of production and disposal of wastes in the environment, their safe management, implementation of waste recovery measures. To apply a set of technologies (methods) preventing secondary pollution of soil, air or water resources; implement the principles of “green office”.

13. To carry out an environmental impact assessment (EIA) of the Company’s activities, from the construction stage to the liquidation stage, with mandatory information to the public and stakeholders.

14. Not to carry out activities in specially protected natural areas of special value as habitat of rare and endangered and valuable species of animals, to carry out risk assessment when carrying out work in ecologically sensitive territories.

The application of this Policy of the Company shall be carried out in accordance with the established procedure by developing and approving similar policies or bringing internal documents of organizations in compliance with this Policy.
