Works at the Ozen Severny area are carried out under the Contract for the exploration and production of hydrocarbons under a complex project No. 5475-UVS//1485-3325 dated 03.06.2025. The objective of the project is to conduct geological exploration works with the drilling of exploratory wells and subsequent assessment of the oil and gas potential of the area. The subsoil block area is 1,287.94 km². The project is being implemented in Mangystau Region of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The subsoil user under the project is NC KazMunayGas JSC (100%), and the operator is KMG Barlau LLP. Financing of geological exploration works during the exploration period is provided by NC KazMunayGas JSC.

The geological exploration program provides for the drilling of two independent exploratory wells with design depths of 2,000 m and 1,650 m, including a set of geological and geophysical studies, core sampling, and testing.

Drilling of exploratory well NO-1 was completed during the period from October to November 2025, with an actual total depth of 2,002 m. Geophysical surveys, core sampling, and testing (well development) of targets were carried out at the well.

Drilling of exploratory well NO-4 commenced in December 2025. Drilling is currently ongoing. The works are being carried out in accordance with the approved program and schedule.

Drilling operations were performed in strict compliance with the requirements of industrial safety, fire safety, occupational health and safety, and environmental protection. During the course of the works, no accidents, emergencies, incidents, or personnel injuries were recorded.
