On September 14, 2026, KMG Barlau LLP held a seminar for its employees on the topic “Key Amendments to Legislation in the Field of Anti-Corruption.”

The event was organized at the initiative of the Compliance Department and Samat Bukanov, General Director of KMG Barlau LLP.

The seminar was delivered by Dinara Tlegabulova, Compliance Officer at KMG Barlau LLP, and Almat Issenov, Senior Lawyer at KMG Barlau LLP.

The seminar covered key amendments to the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan introduced by Laws No. 311-VIII and No. 312-VIII dated June 12, 2026.

Particular attention was paid to the new rules for preventing and resolving conflicts of interest, enhanced requirements for anti-corruption compliance functions, and increased liability for corruption-related offences.

Participants also discussed new provisions concerning the offering, promise and solicitation of bribes, strengthened administrative and criminal liability, employees’ obligations to report corruption-related offences, and mechanisms for protecting individuals who report such violations.

A separate section addressed amendments to the Labour Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan concerning employees of anti-corruption compliance services.

The seminar was aimed at raising employees’ awareness of the requirements of the updated legislation and further strengthening a culture of integrity, transparency and zero tolerance for corruption at KMG Barlau LLP.
