On June 5, 2025, an important event for KMG Barlau LLP took place in the city of Atyrau — the restocking of the Zhaiyk River. The initiative was organized jointly with the contractor BGP Geophysical Services (Kazakhstan) LLP. It is aimed at preserving the biodiversity of the Zhaiyk-Caspian water basin and fulfilling the company’s environmental commitments.
The restocking was carried out as compensation for damage caused during 2D CDP seismic exploration works conducted in 2024 at the Bolashak area in Mangystau Region.
A total of 5,500 juvenile Russian sturgeon, raised at the fish breeding facility of Aktau-Balyk-LTD LLP, were released into the Zhaiyk River. The event was held with the participation of a special commission and representatives of the Atyrau public. Information about the event had been previously covered by regional media outlets of Atyrau Region.
KMG Barlau places the highest priority on compliance with environmental standards and the requirements of the environmental legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. We adhere to the principles of responsible environmental management, pollution prevention, and the preservation of ecosystems in areas where geophysical works are conducted.
