Work on the Ozen Severny area is carried out on the basis of a Contract for the exploration and production of hydrocarbons under the complex project No. 5475-UVS//1485-3325 dated 06/03/2025. The purpose of the project is to conduct exploration work with drilling of exploratory wells and subsequent assessment of the oil and gas potential of the site. The area of the subsurface area is 1,287.94 km2. The project is being implemented in the Mangystau region of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The subsoil user of the project is JSC NC KazMunayGas (100%), the operator is KMG Barlau LLP. The financing of exploration activities during the exploration period is carried out at the expense of JSC NC KazMunayGas.

The exploration program provides for the drilling of two independent exploration wells with design depths of 2000 m and 1650 m with a complex of geological and geophysical studies, core sampling and testing.

The drilling of exploratory well No. 1 was carried out in the period from October to November 2025 at the actual bottom of 2002. Geophysical surveys, core sampling, and testing (development) of facilities have been carried out at the well.

Drilling of exploratory well No. 4 began in December 2025. Drilling is currently underway. The work is carried out in accordance with the approved program and calendar schedule.

Drilling operations are carried out in strict accordance with the requirements of industrial safety, fire safety, labor protection and environmental protection. No accidents, accidents, incidents or accidents involving personnel were recorded during the work.
